New lease standards originally issued back in February 2016 went through a series of extensions due to the pandemic and contention. The new lease standards are finally effective for non-public entities for annual periods beginning after December 15, 2021. The Consolidated Appropriations Act and the American Rescue Plan Act expanded the Employee Retention Credit for businesses from the original “CARES” Act. The purpose of the Employee Retention Credit is to incentivize employers to retain their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The incentives start with a $5,000 annual credit per employee in 2020 and increase to a $7,000 quarterly credit per employee in 2021.Continue Reading
