The South County Economic Development Council's Binational Forum is slated
to be one of the premier business gatherings in our binational community,
aims to bring together civic, business, and community leaders for a
day of collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange.
Our panel discussions will offer unique insights and perspectives on
key binational topics such as Technology, Workforce, Education, and
Emerging Industries.

The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate or stay and grow in California. A total of $644,756,695 in California Competes Tax Credit is available for allocation in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
Application Period Timeline
For fiscal year 2024-2025, GO-Biz will accept applications for the California Competes Tax Credit during the following periods: July 22, 2024 – August 12, 2024
California Competes Webinar Information
Prior to each application period, GO-Biz hosts online webinars about the California Competes program. Each webinar consists of a 45-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session. Webinars dates: July 24, 2024 9:30am – 10:30am PDT

Blueprint SD is a proactive effort to create an equitable and sustainable
framework for growth to support current and future San Diegans. Blueprint
SD is using the best available data to identify areas for more homes
and jobs that are connected to convenient and affordable options to
walk, bike, and ride transit to meet daily needs, such as going to
work, school, or the grocery store.
This approach helps meet the needs of our growing city while making progress
towards our climate goals.
This updated strategy (or “blueprint”) for growth will be used to refresh
the General Plan.
After a year of remarkable achievements, the South County Economic Development Council (EDC) is on the lookout for fresh talent to join its entrepreneurial ranks.
Expert Mentorship
Our students will receive invaluable guidance and mentorship from
local business leaders with diverse areas of expertise.
Business Planning
The program will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary
to create a solid business plan, laying the foundation for their
ventures.
Navigating Regulations
We will assist students in understanding and obtaining the necessary
permits and licenses required for their businesses.
The South County Economic Development Council is excited to welcome a fantastic new women-owned dessert shop, "Mad for Cheesecake", to the National City community. Located at 1420 E Plaza Blvd, Suite B-5, this innovative oasis is bringing delectable desserts and desert-inspired offerings to the area.
As a women-led business, "Mad for Cheesecake" is helping to diversify the local landscape and provide residents with unique, high-quality products. We're proud to support the growth and success of this new desert-themed venture.
