The South County Economic Development Council (SCEDC) extends its gratitude to all attendees of our Board of Directors Meeting New Year Celebration at Sammy's held on Jan 11th at Seven Mile Casino in Chula Vista.
We sincerely thank Kim Frink, Board President of SunCoast Market Co-op, and Jovita Arellano, Coordinator of Chula Vista Community Collaborative, for their engaging and informative presentations.

Our new short-term Manufacturing Technology Certificate provides you
the foundational skills needed to succeed in a variety of entry-level,
manufacturing jobs.
Classes start February 2nd

Sweetwater Authority (Authority) will hold the next meeting of its Community Advisory Work Group on January 23, 2024.
The Community Advisory Work Group offers Sweetwater Authority stakeholders
a platform to actively engage in the projects and initiatives of the
water agency. By participating in the work group, stakeholders help
shape the future of our community’s water services and infrastructure.
The work group is open to residents, ratepayers, property owners and members of the business community in Sweetwater Authority’s service area.

The next application period for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC)
program is
opening on
January 2, 2024 and will
close on January 22, 2024.
The CCTC is a tax credit program, run by the Governor’s Office of Business
and Economic Development (GO-Biz), that grants tax credits to businesses
that want to locate in California or stay and grow in the state.
The South County EDC's Business Outreach team extends the invitation
to its board of directors and members to volunteer in our canvassing
efforts. This is a great opportunity to learn more on how we
assist our South County business community.
