Dear Members of the South County Economic Development Council,
I want to extend my gratitude to each of you for investing in the vital work done to enhance the quality of life across our region. The South County EDC is committed to ensuring that all our communities realize the greatest outcomes from the investment, attention, and
opportunity actively engaging our area.
The coming years will be among the most pivotal our region has ever seen, with major investments in housing, amenities, job-creating projects, and enhancements to our educational offerings. This year will be a banner year for the South County EDC as we undertake
several key initiatives:
- Development of a Promotional Arm for our South Bay Communities: This will help us showcase the unique opportunities and advantages of our region.
- Building a Bridge to the Future for Workers in Evolving Industries: This includes adapting to changes driven by the shift towards more renewable resources.
- Expansion of our Entrepreneurial Offerings: Through both our Young Entrepreneurs Academy and a new program designed to mentor and assist individuals in bringing their ideas and concepts to fruition.
We continue to reach out to businesses daily, ensuring we stay attuned to the latest trends impacting them and bringing the necessary resources and stakeholders together to address these challenges. With our expanded outreach program, we will directly engage with more than 3,000 businesses this year.
Your investment in the SCEDC is greatly appreciated by everyone who benefits from our services, staff, community, and offerings. Your commitment enables us to drive impactful change and build a brighter future for our communities.
On behalf of the entire team at SCEDC, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your families as we celebrate Independence Day. This 4th of July, we commemorate the spirit of freedom and unity that defines our nation. As we gather with friends and family, let's reflect on the principles of liberty, opportunity, and community that continue to inspire us in South County.
Wishing you a joyful and safe Independence Day.
Sincerely,
Jim O'Callaghan
