Thank you to everyone who joined the South County Economic Development Council on January 8, 2026, to celebrate the start of a transformative new year!

It was a wonderful evening at Sammy’s at Seven Mile Casino, filled with reflection, connection, and shared excitement for the future of our region. We extend a special thank you to the elected officials in attendance—Ron Morrison, Paloma Aguirre, Carol Seabury, Delfina Gonzalez, and Mark Robak—for the Proclamation awards and their unwavering dedication to our community’s growth.

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our outgoing 2025 Chair of the Board, Tony McCune. Tony’s outstanding commitment over the past year has been vital to the success of South County’s businesses and residents alike.  We are incredibly grateful for his leadership and service.

Finally, a warm congratulations to our newly sworn-in 2026 Chair of the Board, Risa Baron. We are thrilled to have Risa at the helm as we embark on what promises to be one of the most instrumental years in SCEDC’s history.
