Through and Beyond COVID-19 

The Santa Clara County Office of Education, in partnership with the NYC Leadership Academy, is pleased to offer its "Advancing Equity Through and Beyond COVID-19" webinar series. This opportunity for professional development for school staff and community partners will cover a variety of topics connected to equity and discipline in order to reduce school suspensions and provide more support for students.

Join us on May 27th for the first webinar focused on leading for equity in the COVID-19 crisis. In this 90-minute webinar (60 minutes of content and 30 minutes of Q&A), you will explore:

  • Issues of inequity that existed before COVID-19 both in Santa Clara County and nationwide
  • The effects of COVID-19 on exacerbating these inequities
  • Implications for your role as a leader during this unprecedented time
  • Practices to ensure strong, healthy relationships with students and staff

About the Presenters

Imee Almazan serves as Coordinator of State and Federal Programs for Alum Rock Union Elementary School District. 

Nancy Gutierrez serves as President & CEO of the NYC Leadership Academy, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that builds the capacity of educational leaders, at every level of the system, to confront inequities and create the conditions necessary for all students to thrive.
