The Nibiaa Devices solution is a LoRaWAN IoT Data-driven Water Quality Monitoring Kit which can be used to monitor the water quality in local water supply station in remote villages. It is a plug-and-play system with an IoT Cloud platform to collect and analyse near real-time data from various water quality sensors like PH level, water temperature, turbidity, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) placed on the water surface. The sensors collect data and transfer through a LPWAN System to a Gateway which will backhaul through 3G SIM Card or Ethernet into the Cloud platform. The cloud platform will be used to analyse the sensor data collect and send reports and notification to Water Supply Station Officer in case of anomalies or critical situation due to bad water quality. This solution will also make sure the Water treatment station is doing proper water treatment and help in monitoring the overall water quality and make sure only treated water is supplied to the public and improve overall health of the community.
Kanpeki has used a combination of WaterBit Carbon™ nodes and soil moisture probes to perform in-field monitoring and data collection of its rice fields. The Carbon nodes are waterproof, compact, solar-powered, battery-free, long-range (LoRa) radio-powered devices that are placed directly in the rice fields and collect in-field data from soil moisture probes. The probes are are inserted 48 inches into the soil and pull six sensor-depth readings. Carbon nodes stay out of the way of harvest operations and require no towers inside the field’s perimeter, so aerial operations like crop duster seeding and other aerial applications can happen as regularly scheduled. Carbon nodes communicate with WaterBit Connect,™ our cellular gateway, which relays the information to the cloud and into the WaterBit Dashboard™ where the grower can view the soil moisture and temperature data on a computer or mobile device from anywhere, at any time.

The UNHCR provides water to millions of people worldwide. Water trucking is a fast method to provide safe drinking water to refugee population but it can however be inefficient, expensive, complex to administer and to monitor.UNHCR Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) identified a ground-level LoRaWAN-based IoT solution producing accurate and efficient data about quality and quantity of remote water supplies.Combining Kerlink solar-powered IoT gateways and GreenCityZen sensor-to-cloud application, pilot projects have been deployed. The Ugandan Arua Field site provides daily water to 470,000 refugees. Reservoirs sensors instantly monitor water levels, providing unprecedented visibility into water usage, quality and management and. It is also a reliable new source of coordinated payment information: 630 trucks are hauling up to 6,387 cubic meters of water daily, representing $15 million per month. UN plans eight additional installations in Africa and Asia, and envisions systems in Uganda, Iraq, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Bangladesh.
