A two-day workshop that trains district leaders and school leadership coaches in the Leadership Academy’s signature Facilitative, Competency-Based coaching model.

October 2nd & 3rd in New York City
Tuition: $1,200 per person

School leadership coaches, as well as school and district leaders, will engage in intensive training in NYCLA's signature equity-focused leadership coaching model. With expert NYCLA faculty, participants learn how to strengthen trust, promote reflection, provide targeted feedback, and support leaders in identifying and applying high-impact action steps to dismantle inequitable practices and accelerate school transformation and student learning.

NYCLA has trained more than 750 leadership coaches across the country in our facilitative, competency-based coaching model. These participants have identified the most useful aspects of our training to include:

  • Focus on leadership for equitable practice
    • Role-playing coaching scenarios
    • Working to deepen feedback and questioning skills
    • Using leadership standards to diagnose principals’ learning needs
    • Thinking about the role of learning styles and mental models in coaching
    • Engaging in highly accountable learning

"So often the PD opportunities for professionals at my level focus on education generally. It’s great to see an organization drilling down into the nuances of leadership coaching—and that the learning I experienced impacts my daily work.”

- Shavonne Gibson, Managing Director of Center City Public Charter Schools, Washington, D.C.
