Session Descriptions
Tuesday, Feb. 10
Federal Rural Health Funding in Kansas
Federal investments play an important role in supporting rural health systems, including in Kansas. This session will provide an overview of key federal rural health funding efforts, including Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) programs and the Rural Health Transformation Program. You will learn how these initiatives support rural health access, care delivery and system sustainability, and what they may mean for Kansas communities and state policy discussions.

Tuesday, Feb. 17
Health Insurance Marketplace Changes in 2026
Marketplace premiums and plan options are changing in 2026, and many of the 200,000 Kansans who enrolled in the previous year may experience changes in affordability as enhanced federal subsidies are set to expire. This session will provide an overview of premium trends, insurer participation and how different households may be affected. Participants will hear from a panel representing community clinics, hospitals and patient navigation services about what these changes mean for access to care and service delivery across Kansas. Join us to explore data, ask questions and consider the real-world implications for Kansas communities.

Tuesday, Feb. 24
Understanding OBBBA (H.R. 1) and Its Impacts on Medicaid and CHIP in Kansas
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) enacted significant federal changes to Medicaid that could affect Kansas’ health coverage landscape. This session will provide an overview of key OBBBA provisions affecting Medicaid financing tools, enrollment and eligibility rules, and incentives for expansion. You will learn how these federal changes may impact access to care, how the state administers the program, and policy discussions in Kansas. Join us to better understand what OBBBA’s implementation could mean for key aspects of Medicaid in Kansas.

Tuesday, March 3
Learn How to Host a Hunger Free Kansas Data Walk
Data walks are effective and engaging ways to tell the story of hunger in Kansas by using data. To foster creative conversations and solutions around hunger, health and nutrition access, Hunger Free Kansas is bringing their Data Walk to Kansas communities. Join us for this presentation and panel discussion to learn more about the Hunger Free data walk posters, and practical tips and tricks for planning and facilitating a data walk in your community. Join us to learn how to jumpstart meaningful conversations that lead to actions to achieve a Hunger Free Kansas.
