"The Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) is a United States federal law that was enacted in 2013 in order to prevent counterfeit and stolen drugs from entering the legitimate pharmaceutical supply chain. The DSCSA has a number of provisions that aim to improve the security of the drug supply chain in the United States. One of the key provisions of the DSCSA is to create an interoperable system for tracking and tracing prescription drugs. This system will allow the FDA to identify and track drugs as they move through the pharmaceutical supply chain from the manufacturer to the dispenser and ultimately to the customer."
